These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you ("you," "your," or "Member") and idsealed LLC, a Wyoming (USA) limited liability company serving the United Kingdom and the European Union ("idsealed," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of our websites, applications, and the data-removal, identity-masking, and monitoring services we provide (together, the "Service").
Please read carefully. Section 17 contains a binding arbitration agreement and a class-action waiver that affect how disputes are resolved. Section 6 contains important limitations on the Disguise Services, including that masked phone numbers cannot be used to contact 911 or emergency services. Section 10 explains the email, text (SMS), and telephone communications you may receive and how to control them. By creating an account, signing the Authorization, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old, a resident of the United Kingdom or the European Union, and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate. Certain features — including Virtual Cards — additionally require successful identity verification (Section 6.4). If you use the Service on behalf of a household member or a minor child, you represent that you are their parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise lawfully authorized to act for them, and that you have authority to bind them to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
idsealed is a subscription privacy service built on our Triple-D Method — Delete, Disguise, and Defend:
Delete. Acting as your authorized agent, we identify data brokers and people-search sites that list your personal information and submit opt-out and deletion requests through those companies' official channels, including, where available, complaints to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) where a company fails to honour your rights.
Disguise. Depending on your plan, we provide the "Disguise Services": a masked email address (an "Alias"), a masked phone number (a "Masked Number"), and a virtual payment card (a "Virtual Card") for you to use in place of your real information, as described in Section 6.
Defend. We periodically re-scan brokers and monitor breach and dark-web sources for re-listings and new exposure, and we re-file removals on a recurring basis.
Specific features depend on the plan you select and are described at the point of sale. Plans include usage allowances for the Disguise Services as described at the point of sale and in Section 6.1. We may add, change, or discontinue features over time as described in Section 19.
Our free scan provides an illustrative, masked preview of personal information that data brokers and breach sources may associate with the phone number or other identifier you submit. The scan:
shows masked values only (for example, partial addresses or the last four digits of a number) and never displays a full Social Security number;
requires a one-time verification code sent to your number before any expanded report is unlocked, so that only the owner of an identifier can view results associated with it;
is provided for general informational purposes and may be incomplete, approximate, or contain matches that are not actually yours. It is not a consumer report and must not be used for any purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), such as eligibility for credit, employment, housing, or insurance.
By submitting a phone number for a scan, you also authorize the limited, automated text messages described in Section 10.2, which we use to verify that you own the number and to deliver your results and the link to view them. This is a transactional program you initiate; message-and-data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to end it.
You agree to run scans only on identifiers you own or are authorized to investigate, and never to look up another person without lawful authority.
To remove your data, you appoint idsealed as your authorized agent under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 (and, for EU residents, the EU GDPR), exercising your rights of access (Article 15), erasure (Article 17), and objection (Article 21). When you enroll, you electronically sign a Limited Authorized-Agent Authorization ("Authorization") that grants us permission to submit privacy requests, opt-outs, and deletion requests on your behalf and to take reasonable steps to verify and document those requests. The Authorization is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Electronic signatures (ESIGN/UETA consent)
You consent to transact with us electronically. Your act of typing your name, checking the authorization box, or clicking a button indicating agreement constitutes your electronic signature and has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature under the federal ESIGN Act and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA). You may withdraw consent to electronic transactions or revoke your Authorization at any time by contacting us, in which case we will stop acting as your agent; revocation does not undo requests already submitted.
A business or governmental recipient of a privacy request may still require you to verify your identity directly and to confirm that you authorized us to act for you. You agree to cooperate with reasonable identity-verification steps that brokers, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), or other recipients may require.
We will use commercially reasonable efforts to remove your information through lawful channels. However, you understand and agree that:
we do not and cannot guarantee that any particular broker will remove your data, remove it within a specific timeframe, or keep it removed;
brokers control their own systems, may decline or delay requests, may require additional verification, and frequently re-acquire information from public records and other sources, so data may reappear;
new data brokers and breach events arise continually, which is why the Service is ongoing rather than a one-time fix;
the Service reduces your exposure but does not prevent identity theft, fraud, spam, or any specific harm, and is not insurance.
The Disguise Services help you avoid sharing your real details. They are provided with financial and telecommunications partners (our "Financial Partners" and "Telecommunications Providers") and are subject to their terms and to applicable law. You agree to use the Disguise Services only for lawful purposes and never to commit fraud, impersonate another person, evade law enforcement, launder funds, harass or threaten anyone, or violate the terms of any service you sign up for. Availability, features, and usage allowances (such as monthly message-forwarding caps) depend on your plan and are described at the point of sale; we may apply reasonable rate limits and caps to protect the Service and other Members. We may suspend or revoke any individual Disguise Service feature — independently of your subscription — if we reasonably suspect misuse, illegal activity, abuse of usage allowances, or risk to us, other Members, or our providers.
Aliases are provided on our mailsealed.com domain (and any successor domains) and forward messages to your verified real address. You understand that: (a) email relay depends on third-party mail systems and we do not guarantee delivery, latency, or availability of forwarded messages; (b) we do not read your forwarded messages, and any automated processing is limited to routing, abuse, malware, and spam protection; (c) Aliases may not be used to originate spam or to register accounts fraudulently; and (d) when your subscription ends or an Alias is disabled, mail to that Alias will stop forwarding and will bounce — you are responsible for updating accounts that use an Alias before cancellation.
A Masked Number is a supplementary privacy tool, not a telephone service and not a replacement for your primary phone line.
MASKED NUMBERS CANNOT BE USED TO CALL OR TEXT 911 OR OTHERWISE CONTACT EMERGENCY SERVICES. DO NOT RELY ON A MASKED NUMBER IN AN EMERGENCY — USE YOUR PRIMARY PHONE SERVICE.
You further understand and agree that: (a) messages and calls relayed through your Masked Number are your own communications, and you are solely responsible for their content and legality; (b) wireless carriers apply filtering and content rules, and delivery of relayed messages is not guaranteed; (c) Masked Numbers may not be used for bulk, automated, or commercial messaging, marketing, or any content prohibited by carrier rules; (d) Masked Numbers are licensed to you, not owned by you — if you cancel, or after an extended period of inactivity that we describe in the feature settings, the number may be deactivated and reclaimed, and we cannot guarantee number portability; and (e) forwarding is subject to your plan's monthly usage allowance, and we may throttle or pause forwarding that exceeds it or that indicates abuse (we will notify you when a cap is reached).
Virtual Cards are a payment convenience, not a bank account, deposit account, or credit product. Your use of a Virtual Card is additionally governed by the Cardholder Agreement presented at card activation, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. You understand and agree that:
Identity verification is required by federal law. Before a Virtual Card can be issued, you must complete identity verification, and you consent to our sharing the information you provide (which may include your name, date of birth, address, and government identifiers) with our Financial Partners for that legally required purpose;
we and our Financial Partners may set and change spending limits, merchant-category restrictions, and velocity limits, and may decline, suspend, or cancel a card to prevent fraud, abuse, or legal risk;
Virtual Cards may be used only for lawful purchases and consistent with card-network rules; prohibited uses are described in the Cardholder Agreement;
card funding operates as described at activation [FUNDING TERMS — to be completed to match the counsel-approved funding model before launch]; failed funding may cause declined transactions;
disputes about card transactions are handled under the process and timelines in the Cardholder Agreement; we will assist you, but merchant acceptance and dispute outcomes are not within our control.
Provide accurate, current, and complete information and keep it updated, so we can find and remove the right records.
Maintain the security of your account and credentials; you are responsible for activity under your account.
Authorize each person whose data you submit; for minors, act only as their parent or legal guardian.
Cooperate with identity verification reasonably required to complete removals or provide Disguise Services.
You agree not to: (a) use the Service to access, investigate, remove, or impersonate any person you are not authorized to act for; (b) harass, stalk, threaten, defraud, or harm anyone, including through any Disguise Service; (c) use an Alias, Masked Number, or Virtual Card to originate spam, send bulk or automated messages, conduct prohibited commercial messaging, or make fraudulent purchases or account registrations; (d) scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or interfere with the Service or its security; (e) resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted; (f) use the Service for any FCRA-regulated purpose; or (g) violate any applicable law. We may investigate and take action, including feature-level suspension or account termination, for suspected violations. Harassment or stalking through a Disguise Service results in immediate termination.
Subscriptions. Plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through our third-party payment processor. Current prices are shown at checkout and may include applicable taxes.
Automatic renewal. Your subscription automatically renews at the then-current price for successive periods unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges until you cancel.
Cancellation. You may cancel anytime from your account or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues through the end of the paid period. On cancellation, Disguise Services wind down as described in Section 6 (Aliases stop forwarding; Masked Numbers may be reclaimed; Virtual Cards are closed after any pending transactions settle).
Refunds & 30-day money-back guarantee. A new Member may request a full refund of their first subscription payment within 30 days of the initial charge by contacting support@idsealed.com; we will refund that payment and cancel the Service. Outside this 30-day window, and except where required by law, fees are non-refundable, including for partial periods and for automatic renewal charges. The guarantee covers the base subscription fee only and does not cover per-use telecommunications, messaging, or card-funding costs already incurred on your behalf.
Chargebacks. If you dispute a charge with your bank or card network, we may suspend the Service pending resolution and may present the processor with records evidencing the transaction and your authorization — including your signed Authorization, account and access logs, and delivery records. Filing a chargeback instead of using the refund process above, or filing one after receiving a refund, may result in termination and referral for collection.
Price changes. We may change prices or plan features for future periods with advance notice; changes do not affect the period you have already paid for.
Failed payments. If a charge fails, we may suspend the Service and retry payment.
This Section 10 governs communications idsealed itself sends to you across email, text message (SMS), and telephone. It does not cover messages or calls that other people send to you and that are relayed through your Masked Number — those are your own communications and are addressed in Section 6.3.
When you create an account or give us your contact details, you agree to receive non-marketing service messages necessary to operate the Service — for example one-time verification codes, exposure-scan results, removal status updates, billing and renewal notices, security and fraud alerts, and replies to your support requests. We send these by email and, where you have provided a mobile number, by SMS. Because these messages are part of the Service you requested, they are not promotional; you cannot opt out of them while your account is open (other than by closing your account), though you may always stop marketing messages as described below.
When you submit a phone number to run a free exposure scan, you authorize us to send a limited, automated set of text messages to that number in order to verify that you own it and to deliver your scan results and the link to view them. This is a transactional program tied to a request you initiated; it is not marketing. Message-and-data rates may apply, and you may reply STOP to end these texts (which may prevent us from delivering your results).
Marketing communications are separate and entirely optional. With your consent, we may send promotional messages about idsealed features, offers, and privacy tips through email, SMS, and/or telephone — including, where you have given the required prior express written consent, marketing calls or texts made using an automatic telephone dialing system or an artificial or prerecorded voice. Your consent to receive marketing calls or texts is not a condition of purchasing or using the Service. You may withdraw marketing consent at any time (Section 10.6) without affecting the service messages in Section 10.1.
Programs. Our texts fall into transactional programs (Sections 10.1–10.2) and, only if you opt in, a separate marketing program (Section 10.3); we do not embed marketing in verification or other transactional messages.
Frequency varies based on your activity and settings.
Message and data rates may apply, and delivery depends on your carrier; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Help & opt-out. Reply HELP for help or STOP to unsubscribe from a texting program at any time; you may also opt out by any other reasonable method. Opting out of marketing texts does not stop the service messages needed to run your account (such as security codes).
We do not share your mobile number with third parties for their own marketing, and we register our messaging campaigns with carriers and our messaging provider as required (for example, UK alphanumeric sender-ID registration), and screen against the Telephone Preference Service (TPS/CTPS) before any marketing calls.
Email. Every marketing email we send identifies idsealed and includes a working unsubscribe link, and we honor unsubscribe requests promptly, consistent with the CAN-SPAM Act. Transactional emails necessary to operate your account continue even if you unsubscribe from marketing.
Telephone. idsealed does not place routine service telephone calls to you; where we offer a number for a free scan, we communicate by text as described above. We do not record or monitor telephone calls as part of the Service, and Masked Numbers relay your calls without recording their content (Section 6.3). If we place any marketing calls under Section 10.3, we honor the UK Telephone Preference Service (TPS), applicable state calling-time restrictions, and any request you make to stop calling.
You may revoke marketing consent for any channel by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, telling us during a call, changing your account notification settings, or emailing privacy@idsealed.com; we honor opt-outs made by any reasonable means. You represent that every phone number and email address you give us is one you are authorized to use, and you agree to notify us promptly if a number is reassigned or you lose access to it, so we do not contact someone else.
The Service relies on third parties — for example, payment processing and card issuing, email and SMS delivery, telecommunications carriers, breach-data lookups, hosting, and identity tooling — and interacts with data brokers and government platforms that we do not control. A current list of our providers, by category, is maintained at idsealed.com/providers and may change as we improve the Service. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, content, policies, availability, or decisions of any third party, including any broker's decision to remove, retain, or re-acquire your data.
The Service, including its software, design, text, the "idsealed," "mailsealed," and "Triple-D Method" names, logos, and all related intellectual property, is owned by idsealed or its licensors and protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use under these Terms. You receive no other rights. Feedback you provide may be used by us without obligation to you.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, secure, and delete your information, and your privacy rights. It is incorporated into these Terms. Because we remove data for a living, protecting your data is central to how we operate.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure; that scan results are accurate or complete; that any data will be removed or stay removed; or that any Alias message, Masked Number message, or Virtual Card transaction will be delivered, completed, or accepted. Nothing in the Service constitutes legal, financial, or professional advice. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, idsealed and its officers, members, employees, and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
These limits apply regardless of the legal theory and form the basis of the bargain between us. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as for our gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless idsealed and its officers, members, employees, and providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your misuse of the Service, including any Disguise Service; (b) your violation of these Terms or any law; (c) your submission of data you were not authorized to submit; (d) communications you send or receive through an Alias or Masked Number, or transactions you make with a Virtual Card; or (e) your infringement of any third-party right.
Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.
Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at legal@idsealed.com and giving us 30 days to respond.
Except as set out below, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration provider under its consumer rules, rather than in court. For UK and EU consumers, Section 17 applies only to the extent permitted by the law of your country of residence; where consumer law gives you the right to go to court, that right is preserved, and you may also use certified alternative-dispute-resolution (ADR) bodies.
You and idsealed agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding. You and idsealed waive any right to a jury trial.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by sending written notice to legal@idsealed.com with your name and account email. If you opt out, the dispute will be resolved in the courts identified in Section 21.
Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies.
These Terms apply while you use the Service. You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access — or any individual Disguise Service feature — with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, create risk or legal exposure for us, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, we stop acting as your agent, wind down Disguise Services as described in Section 6, and delete your profile as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to records we must retain to evidence requests or comply with law (including financial records our Financial Partners and we are required to keep under federal financial regulations). Sections that by their nature should survive (including 5, 6.4 (as to completed transactions), 11–17, 20–21) survive termination.
We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. For material changes to the Terms, we will provide notice (for example, by email or in-app) before they take effect. Changes are effective on the stated date; your continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel.
UK and EU residents: you have rights under the UK GDPR / EU GDPR described in our Privacy Policy, including rights to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. idsealed does not sell or share your personal information as defined under applicable data-protection law. Under applicable consumer law, you may contact us at the address in Section 22 with complaints, or the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your national supervisory authority.
Governing law. For UK residents, these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales (or Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there). For EU residents, you benefit from any mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in, and may bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
Entire agreement. These Terms, the Authorization, the Cardholder Agreement (if you activate a Virtual Card), and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us and supersede prior agreements on the subject.
Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be limited to the minimum extent necessary.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
Notices. We may send notices to the email associated with your account.
